Of the many circumstances that distinquish Ronnie’s Burgers from other hamburger
restaurants, the most asked about tradition is that of closing on Sunday. As the owner,
Mr. Blanchard made the decision to close on Sunday when he opened his first restaurant
in 1989. He has always shared that his decision was a two-fold decision, of spirituality
and practicality. He believes that all Ronnie’s Burgers employees should have an
opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do
so. Mr. Blanchard believes that by giving employees Sunday off as a day for rest, family,
or fellowship and worship if they choose to do so, the company attracts quality people,
and people, are the cornerstone of Ronnie’s Burgers.  Ronnie’s Burgers has the
opportunity to attract individuals who want to be associated with an organization with
a  values-based vision, is purpose-driven and that truly values a balance between work
and family.  Mr. Blanchard credits “blessings from the Lord” for the great success the
company has enjoyed, and he remains as committed as ever to maintaining the
Closed-on-Sunday policy.
